Varroa mite management is the most critical thing you can learn to do to keep your bees alive. All of the other challenges you face as a beekeeper you will face come in a distant second. The day you become a beekeeper, you become a mite keeper, and your success in managing your mites will directly affect your success with your bees.

This class taught by David Baker will cover various methods to assess the level of Varroa mites in your hives, as well as how to manage your bees and your mites throughout the year.

Topics covered will include:

  • The principles of integrated pest management (IPM)
  • The life cycle of the Varroa mite
  • Monitoring Varroa mite infestation in your colony
  • Nonchemical Varroa control methods
  • Responsible use of chemical controls

Class starts promptly at 6:00 PM. Please select the option for in-store pickup during your checkout process.
